The Roxas Kalaw Foundation for the Eradication of Poverty works with both national and

local governments, civil society and business sectors to engineer sustainability systems that

will eradicate poverty by engaging communities to sustainably co-create their local economies.

Our team and network of consultants bring years of work experience from diverse

backgrounds, including economics, environment and natural resources, agriculture, area development, community development, social enterprise development, land use planning, public policy, and business management.

Management (ECSOM) Framework as our overall approach, our work involves but is not

Our work is data driven. To arrive at robust policy and development interventions, the Roxas

Kalaw Foundation utilizes metrics and tools which measures community productivity and

economic performance against their ecological impacts

community ecological and social accounting matrix (ceesam)

A decision making tool which allows communities to make informed and sustainable decisions about the direction of their development agendas. CEESAM accounts for the economic performance of households and communities, and measures this against the

community’s impacts to its surrounding natural resource base.

the ecological footprint

A decision making tool which allows communities to make informed decisions about the sustainable use of their natural resources. The tool measures how much natural resources we have (biocapacity), how much we consume, and who consumes what resource (footprint). The tool also tracks resource flows, and is scalable from the individual to a country wide scale.
